BPA |
Bio Potential Amplifier Module type 675The HSE Biopotential Amplifier BPA Type 675 is a universal amplifier for the direct measurement of biological signals such as ECG, EMG, EEG, ENG, as well as for measurement using transducers with a strain gauge system. The input circuit of the BPA does not include an isolation amplifier (no potential separation between sensing electrodes and circuit ground of the PLUGSYS measuring system). It is designed specifically for physiological and pharmacological animal experiments. For clinical use and for difficult measurements on animals where potential separation is required, a headstage with an isolation amplifier circuit Type 675/1 is available as an accessory. |
Description | |
| Input | direct for biological signals (ECG, EMG, EEG, ENG) and for strain gauge bridge transducers |
| Input impedance | higher than 100 MOhm |
| Input bias current | 30 nA max |
| Input capacy | 1.5 nF |
| Input circuit | differential amplifier with protection circuit against static discharges and 15 kHz input filter for h.f. suppression |
| Signal input | 8-pin Binder (Amphenol) socket with screw lock. The pin connections correspond to those of the standard 3-pin ECG input cable with Binder (Amphenol) plug. |
| Signal output | a) internally through the system bus of the PLUGSYS measuring
system. The signal output is assigned to the connecting lines AV-1 to AV-16
through a jumper. b) on the front panel through a BNC socket ±10 Volt with an output impedance of 100 Ohm. |
| Analog indication | through a LED bargraph +13/7 LEDs for monitoring the applied signal. The display sensitivity can be changed by a key from +10/5 Volt to +1/0.5 Volt. |
| Transducer supply | 5 V as a bridge supply for strain gauge transducers and supply for external amplifiers (headstages). |
| Gain | 20x, 100x, 200x, 1000x, 2000x and 10 000x selected by a switch, can be varied by a multi-turn trimmer within the range 10 to 100 % (based on the current amplification setting) |
| Electrical calibration | CAL automatic calibration steps operated by zero key, for transducer calibration and evaluation of the input signal. The calibration voltage 0.3-1-3-10-30-100 mV is changed automatically to suit the amplification setting. |
| Frequency range | D.C. to 10 kHz (- 3 dB) |
| High-pass filter | 12 settings, range 0.03 Hz to 10 kHz ( 3 dB) |
| Low-pass filter | 10 settings, range d.c. to 100 Hz ( 3 dB) |
| Filter indication | the settings of the high-pass and low-pass filters are indicated as a frequency pass band using an LED line on the front panel. |
| Notch filter | (HUM-ELIMINATION) a blocking filter can be switched in by pressing a key to suppress interference from the 50 (60) Hz main power supply. |
| Quick start | rapid discharge of the coupling capacitors (on ECG, for example) by pressing a key. |
| Auto zero | automatic zero adjustment by pressing a key. |
| Manual zero | manual zero adjustment for correcting high input offset voltages which exceed the automatic adjustment range of the Auto Zero. |
| Signal output MUX | after pressing the MUX (MULTIPLEX) key the output signal of the BPA is switched to the common output (AM). The signal can be monitored by an optional DVM (Digital VoltMeter) module or with an external oscilloscope or analog recorder. |
| Dimensions | module of 19" rack, Euroboard format 220 mm, width 8 E (40.5 mm), height 3 U (128.7 mm), depth Europe size (220 mm) |
| Connector | DIN 41612 96-pin VG |
| Power supply | 5 Volt 1.2 A from PLUGSYS system bus |
| Weight | 500 g |
