CARDIOMAX III

The CARDIOMAX III

Features / Specifications:

  • Cardiac Output in animals from mice to horses
  • Monitors heart rate with EKG or blood pressure sensors.
  • Calculates stroke volume
  • Measures and displays two (2) systolic, diastolic and mean pressures, dp/dt.
  • Equipped with EKG amplifier. Monitors, displays, and stores EKG curve.
  • Adaptable to most thermistor catheters
  • Can be equipped with Columbus Instruments' Microprobes for cardiac output measurements in mice and rats
  • Can trigger Columbus Instruments' Auto-Injectors for semi-automatic measurements.
  • Remote foot switch can initiate a measurement cycle.
  • Functions as a physiological data logger, storing HR, BT, DP, MP, SP in programmable intervals.

The new Cardiomax-III thermodilution cardiac computer interfaces directly to a Pentium desktop or laptop computer via a very fast RS-232 link. It is intended to be used on a variety of lab animals from mice to horses. In addition to measuring cardiac output and associated parameters (SV, HR), the Cardiomax-III can be used to measure, display, and log ECG (EKG) with its own low level amplifier and two (2) blood pressures (DP, MP, SP, dp/dt). Storage of all parameter data is provided in comma separted ASCII format for easy import into a variety of analysis programs. The thermo-dilution curve image can also be saved. The Cardiomax-III can use a variety of thermistor catheters as well as Columbus Instruments' thermocouple microprobes. The Cardiomax-III's special design makes it resistant to external radio signal interference and its small size (35.5 x 29 x 10 cm) makes it very convenient in a crowded laboratory environment.
