This decapitator has two hardened, ground and polished surgical stainless steel blades, a cast aluminum base and stainless hardware. The base has four holes for permanent mounting to a table top.

The decapitator has a maximum blade opening of 38 mm (1-1/2 in) square and weighs 1.8 kg (1 lb). It is used for rats, mice and other small animals.
Replacement blades are still available for a larger decapitator that has been discontinued. The large decapitators had a maximum blade opening of 102 mm (4 in) square and weighed 4.1 kg (9 lb). It was used for rabbits, small monkeys and similar sized animals.
