Biomaterials
Silicone rubber continues to be the most popular catheter material; however, polyurethanes have been proven to be more hemocompatible than silicone.
Round Tips
We recommend round tips for intravascular catheters as they are less traumatic to the intimal lining of blood vessels. The sharp edges on square-cut or bevel-cut catheters can irritate the vessel’s intimal lining and hasten the host’s thrombogenic response.
All SoloCath™ catheters are supplied EtO sterilized.
